"STARKBILT" LETTUCE HARVESTER - SELF PROPELLED This machine was built to cover four 1.5m wide beds. The concept is to fork one pallet of empty cartons on the floor of the harvester. The operator of the machine controls the steering and the elevator height etc and makes up the cartons which slide down a chute and on to the top of the aluminium boom. Empty boxes are then taken along a small belt on the top of the elevator to the cutters. By taking an empty carton and placing it on a stand on the side of the elevator, cutters cut and pack lettuce into cartons. When these become full they are then pushed onto a conveyor belt which takes the carton back to the harvester, turning a 90° corner onto a lift conveyor for packing onto pallet. This machine with seven workers can produce approximately one pallet (42 boxes and strapped) every 12 minutes. A hydraulic pallet unloader can be fitted, which will lower pallet of lettuce onto the ground while on the move. OPTIONAL EXTRAS:
